1-cos wave

Block-library: DUBSI

     block

The block 1-cos wave generates a wave-function that is shaped according to the following equation:

equation

Only one wave will be generated. The user must define the following block-parameters:

  • the total duration of the wave
  • the starting time
  • the amplitude of the wave, which equals 2×k.

These parameters have been clarified in the figure below:

figure

The total duration of the wave and the starting time both have to be equal to or greater than zero. The amplitude may be positive, yielding a 'hill-shaped' wave function, or negative, yielding a 'valley-shaped' wave. The sign of the amplitude will be reflected in the shape of the block-icon.
