Band-limited Ramp

Block-library: DUBSI

      block

The Band-limited Ramp block generates a ramp-shaped signal that changes from its initial value to a fixed final value with a rate that depends on the specified value of the slope.

The user must define the following block-parameters:

  • the time when the ramp signal will start
  • the initial value of the signal
  • the final value of the signal
  • the absolute value of the slope.

These block-parameters have been illustrated in the figure below:

figure

Whether the slope of the ramp is directed upward or downward is determined solely by the specified initial and final output-values, that is: regardless of the specified sign of the slope.

In order to prevent errors, the Band-limited Ramp block will always use the absolute value of the specified slope; however, in order to prevent confusion the dialog box will also clearly ask the user to enter the absolute slope value. A warning message will be displayed if the users still enters a negative slope value.

The block-icon will reflect the current sign of the slope (upward or downward).
